The Morten God Dolmen

The Morton God Dolmen may date back to 3500 BC and is one of the oldest ancient monuments in Inishowen. This portal tomb was believed to be a portal to the ‘otherworld’ where cremated bones of the important members of the local clan were placed. Thousands of years later during the Iron Age (600BC-400AD), these monuments were believed to have been used by Druids for religious or possibly sacrificial purposes
